MagiKB is a key hook utility. The lite version is able to increase your typing speed and fast the select/copy/cut/delete etc operations. The standard version has more features such as key launcher, task manager. Now the lite version is ready for beta testing. And the standard version is still under developing.
As a key hook, MagiKB may conflict with some other applications if they use a key hook too. Because Windows CE only supports one single hook at a time. This limitation is not a big problem, since there is another tool of ours called WMHooKManager which is under developing too and it will allow multiple hook applications to run at the same time on Windows Mobile.
Now, please try the beta. You are entitle to get a free copy when MagiKB Lite is released if you report valid bugs or request features which are accepted by us.
Note that: This beta only supports Treo 7xx. Other device may not run properly because of different keyboard layouts. We'll release a key collection tool soon which will help us collect different keyboard layouts from different devices.

Hi! I just downloaded and installed Magikb lite and, first of all...THANK YOU!! I have been looking for a version of KeyCaps ever since I switched from the Treo 650 to 700wx....thank you, thank you...i love this program!
I installed and so far, everything works perfect. I switched the timeout values to 190ms which work perfect for me. One thing at the outset is I would like a .cab file...I typically don't like .exe files but that just me. Very minor.
I'll keep using (and loving) the program and let you know if I have any issues.

I'm using CE-Star R3 for Treo 750. After I've installed MagiKB, whenever i use option + spacebar to activate the chinese input method, the systems hangs. Any ideas?

It may facitlitate one-handed operation if the cut/copy/paste menu could be activated by pressing one button followed by the action button, rather than having to press 2 buttions at the same time.

I really have a lot of ideas, so please bear with me with so many posts.  Now there are 3 buttons on the Treo 750 keyboard that the keys don't change after pressing option or shift i.e. 0, spacebar and dot. Could you add a feature to specify a key for these buttons after pressing option or shift? e.g. colon : , which is very useful but missing on the Treo 750 keyboard. Regards, Francisco |

Hi Francisco, So many good ideas, thanks.  Have you resolved the problem of crash? If you've installed some multiple hook programs, I think they should be the cause of the crash. You can try our HookMgr which is thought to be stabler than others.  The two suggestion are useful, I will add them before MagiKB is released. Thank you. You'll get a free copy when it is released. Hi from Italy. Great application for me, in my 750v (old Treo 650 user.......  ). No problems with Ctrl-key pro (finally.....). Add Timeout and Delay options......fantastic ideas! No problems with Alt-key (as in older version). A little problem (or bug?): .dat file (in the root of MagiKB Lite.exe) is not ever update and saved with new user settings. Why? |

Another suggestion:
If I press Shift+Down arrow,
the entire line is highlighted.
But if I press another time, the second line (and more) is not highlighted....
Could it be useful in text files.
We have only "Select all" option.

For the problem to highlight more lines with up-down arrows......I'm sorry with you....it' s a my mistake.
It works perfectly.
But I have ever the problem to save correctly user settings after I've changed any value or closed the configuration window.
Another suggestion:
We need to a function as Favorites in 650-680.
What do you think to remaps ALL the buttons to launch speed dial or applications?
(i.e.: press and hold "w" to launch Web or "m" to call Mary?)
I missed that since my old 650......
And AE Button or any other application don't allows correctly that.

Of course the option functions don't work because of the difference in keyboard layout. I would LOVE to have a fully functioning version of this app for my Mogul. On xda-developers.com a keymap file for the AT&T Tilt has been posted - that should be similar to your Mogul keyboard, and you could edit the keys that are different, as I know the Tytn II version of the HTC Kaiser has some different key assignments than the Tilt version has. att 8925 key map.zip at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1674842#post1674842 |
