Author Topic: Rule to Auto-SMS missed calls, how to keep MC from filtering out #'s  (Read 1202 times)

I have a rule set up to send an SMS to any caller whose call I miss.  However, it appears that if (whatever) caller has called (and been responded to by MC) within (unknown) amount of time, MC "filters" that number & doesn't respond.  Is there a way in rules or options to tell it NOT to do this?  If someone calls 3 times in an hour, I need them to get the same message 3 times.

Just to clarify, right now I have a simple rule setup to SMS respond to missed calls from {phone}.

When I get a second/third/etc call from a number that has already been responded to, I see a message that looks like this on my phone "512-555-1212 has been filtered"

I do NOT want this, I want every missed call to get a return SMS.

There is an option [Send SMS/Email once every minutes] on the [Advanced] tab, set its value to 0, then MagiCall will send SMS every time your rule is triggered.

To disable the notification, open the rule's configuration window, go to the [Others] tab, turn off [Show notifications].

Couldn't replicate it here. Are you using version 2.3.3 ?

Yep.  Using latest version, and am now an honest to god registered/paid user.

Took me this long to respond cuz I needed to get my hands on my daughter's phone to call myself several times in quick succession for testing.  If you don't understand why this took so long, you don't have a teenage daughter.

Anyway...2 pics, you know how they say a picture is worth a thousand words?  I don't understand where this message is coming from, but the text messages are actually going out (according to the sent messages list).

The message in screenshot1 was recieved after the THIRD call in a row, if that matters.  I used her phone to call, hang up, call, hang up, call...on the third call, got that message.
But it does appear at least that the messages are going through.

It seems you use "Send Email" in Action2, with option "SMS" as the selected account for sending SMS. I will check this scenario later. I think if you use "Send SMS" in Action2, it should work without this problem.

Looks like it's already set that way...here are screenies of the applicable settings windows for the rule as it stands now.  Actually these are for a different rule, but the only difference is scheduling...I've got one rule to send an "away" response at night & another identical rule to send a "call this other number" response during the day.  Otherwise, they have identical settings.

I wonder it might be a rule configuration problem. Can you send me your rules and logs for reviewing? By default, those two files should be stored under folder "\My Documents\MagiCall". If you have changed your "Data file location" in options, you may locate those files under that folder.
