I'd like to mute all incoming SMS between 22:00 and 08:00. Should this rule work?

Rule type: SMS
Call rule: Apply always
Enabled: Always

Filter type: All

Action1: Mute
Action2: Do nothig

Meeting Status: Any
Sensitivity: Any
Busy Status: Any

Between: 22:00 and 08:00
On: SMTWTFS

It seems it completely deletes all incoming messages between 22 and 8...
(Touch Pro2/official WM6.5 WWE/Magicall v2.3.1)

thx,

Couldn't repeat it here. Can you make a soft reset to your device and test again? Thanks.

Here is what I did:
hard(!) reset -> installed only magicall -> test (only one rule, as described above) -> failed again
The filtered SMS completely disappears as it has never been received at all (only trace is in Magicall Log/Magicall notification) - something I would expect from "Delete" action.
HW/SW info:
- HTC Touch Pro2
- Official WM6.5 (ROM version: 2.07.401.1 WWE; OS version 5.2.21887)
- Sense 2.5 (Manila version 2.5.2012)
Is there anything I can do to identify this? So far Magicall seems to fit all my call/sms filter needs - at least in theory  Wink

Can someone else give it a try, pls? (touch pro2 or diamond2 with WM6.5)

I think those SMS were not deleted. They are not shown because the Threaded SMS doesn't aware they are existing.
What we do to mute a SMS is make a copy of it and then delete the original one. If we fail to make a copy, the original one will be untouched. It looks like the Threaded SMS does not check the inbox constantly so that it doesn't know a new SMS is created in the inbox.
If you disable the Threaded SMS, you will see those messages in the inbox.

What do you mean by "disable Threaded SMS"?
In HTC messaging there is "traditional mode" and "conversational mode"(~threaded mode).
Switching to "traditional mode" does not solve the issue.

Is there an other way to check whether the "muted" SMS is still there (but simply not visible...)?

(other Call & SMS Blocker app FAQs complaining about third party messaging applications telling that SMS filter is not fully compatible with third part messaging applications like the new HTC messaging)

I meant the built-in message application from Microsoft in WinMo 6.5. There is a registry tweak to turn on/off threaded SMS.

If you use third-party messaging applications like the HTC messaging, that will be not fully compatible.

Sorry about that.

For me it seems that if "Action1: Pass on to next rule" is used MC *does* recognize new SMS even if HTC messaging is used. Can you pls check and confirm this?
It can then be combined with "Action2: Launch Application" - a small "home made" script that mutes volume for a few seconds then resets the original volume...
(For muting an incoming SMS during the night this solution may work)

"Pass on to next rule" does nothing to the SMS so there will be no problem. However, "Mute", "Move" etc will not work.
Yes, it may work with scripts via Action2. But note: "System Default" is better than "Pass on".
