Hello the Grand gurus of Magicall,
How do we allow only certain numbers to be able to call me. I have read elsewhere in the forum about creating a whitelist and blacklist. This works fine.

However i remember in reading the 'user guide' that using a tilde '~' should perform the same thing. I tried but this fail.

How to successfully deploy a rule using tilde '~'. Please give example. Using whitelist/blacklist method means i have to run two rules to achieve one objective hence it is not 'neat' unlike other rules i have.

Thanks
Bud

For example, suppose you want to block all numbers except 123456 and 654321.

Rule type: Incoming Call
Filter type: Specific Number
Phone #: ~123456; ~654321
Action1: Hang up

Wildcards are also supported.
There is a bug regarding this feature in earlier versions of v2.x. Please try the latest v2.2.4, it should work.

Thanks.

I am trying to use this method in order to block multiple area codes but am having no luck.  If I put in just one area code to be blocked with the tilde, it works fine.  I believe the tilde when used multiple times does not work properly.  For instance here is a rule I've created:

Rule type: Incoming Call
Filter type: Specific Number
Phone #: ~123*; ~321*; ~456*  (I also tried replacing the * with ???-???? but that did not make a difference, unwanted calls from those zip codes still kept coming in.

The idea is to allow only those calls from the aforementioned zip codes to call me. All other calls should come through. This is the top most rule in my list.  Should I be doing this a different way?

Any help would be appreciated.

This should be working. Do you use version 2.2.4?

yes, 2.2.4 registered.  I did end up reolving this by creating 2 rules: 1 which filtered area codes that I wanted to accept and another that blocks all other calls. This way works just fine but is a bit messier than using the tilde reverse logic.

Thanks!
