I have two rules running.

first is a certain group of contacts is listed and does nothing.

the second.  captures whatever number I am calling and prepends it in order to call into my PBX and make free calls.

however.  If I am on one of these calls into my PBX it will only "beep" into my ear letting me know there is a incoming call.  there is no caller ID.

it is also blocking and not delivering my SMS while on this same type of call.

any ideas?

I have been searching for this for some time now on this site and can not find the answer.

thanks,
nathan

How is your PBX working? Can you explain your rules, do you use placeholder - {phone} in your second rule? Maybe you just need more pauses, just guessing. Smiley

I am not sure what more pauses would accomplish.

i have a rule that capture whatever number i dial. stops it.  then dials into my pbx and presses all the right buttons for me and dials the number for me.

so my question still is.............  why in the world when i use magicall to change the dialed number.

1.) i get no caller id info coming in.  just the beep.  (no caller id no shows or anything.  just a standard beep like at home when call waiting goes off in your ear)
2.) no text mesages come in.  no notifications or anything.  then once i hang up.  i get all of them.

there has to be something that i am missing as to why it would not let me see who is calling or get any text messages

my first rule basicall has a group of like 10 numbers that I use to call for free with my mobile to mobile.

next rule states to change number dialed v2 {phone}[0,0]

any thoughts

You may try "Change dialed number", instead of v2.

if I do the normal change dialed number it does not work to let me capture the phone number I dialed and then prepend it with what /i need.  it acts very funny and tried to dial both at the same time

That's weird. What number do you see in MagiCall Log Viewer?

i guess I am not following you.

how about if you tell me how i should setup my filter??

i want it to take  whatever number i dial and prepend it with my pbx number and password and then dial the number i was originally dialing.

the reason for this is that once i dial into my pbx and supply a password i get a dialtone.

OK. Here they are.

Rule 1 - Exception List
Rule type: Outgoing Call
Filter type: Category
Categories: Personal (just an example, you need to select your categories)
Action1: System Default
Action2: Do nothing

Rule 2 - Using PBX
Rule type: Outgoing Call
Filter type: All
Action1: Change dialed number
Call to: 123456,,,1111,,,{phone}  assume your PBX number is 123456 and password is 1111
Action2: Do nothing

Leave others settings for these two rules with default values. Hope they work for you.

could you be a little more specific.  as far as rule #1 is concerened.  I am using 2.2.2

also I have to use a # symbol after my password.  not a big deal.  but does MagiCall have an issue with that?

Rule 1 is working as a white list in case you have some numbers not for PBX. I don't know what your need is so my suggestions may not be so specific. I was assuming you have some contacts to call directly without using PBX, you may assign a special category to those contacts, for example "Personal", and let MagiCall bypass contacts with the category, which is what Rule 1 does.

You may use # symbol in your password, that is not a problem. Like this
Call to: 123456,,,1111#,,,{phone}

I don't know if your rules are working properly or not. You may enable the second rule only and disable all others, and see if it is working and check what number is captured in Log Viewer.

THE PROBLEM IS NOT THE NUMBER IT IS CALLING.  sorry about the caps

the problem is that when someone calls in to my cell phone directly.  only if i have MagiCall running a rule to call the PBX.  I do not receive my text messages until i hang up the call.

also when the above is happening, i am not able to have my phone show the caller id of the person trying to call directly into my cell phone.  all i recieve is the standard beep in the ear to let me know someone is calling.   just like what you woul recieve at home if you did not pay for caller id service

if i do not run the MagiCall rule to call into the pbx.  everything works fine.

so what is it that MagiCall is doing to my phone to make this happen

OK. I understand now. I just tested it and experienced the same problem when using "Change dialed number (v2)". It is a bug. I will fix it in future releases.

But when I changed to use "Change dialed number", this problem disappeared. So you may try "Changed dialed number" and see if it works for you.

You mentioned the normal "change dialed number" didn't work for you. This might be that the pauses were too short or too long. You may adjust the pauses length in the [Call to] box, by using more or less commas.
