I do not understand the unknown caller function. This is how I wish the unknown to work. A caller with out a number blocked, says UNKNOWN in caller id, wish to block these and only these and have all other calls from contacts and new callers with spec# come thru. I am getting these calls every day several times a day. I do not have time to answer these sales pitches. I am on 2.2. I have other rules that block spec# that are selling already.

Doesn't the following rule work?

Rule type: Incoming
Filter type: Anonymous
Action1: Hang up

In addition to the rule Admin has written, here is the explanation of the difference between Unknown Number and Anonymous from the User Guide:

Unknown Number: Filters numbers that are not alike to any numbers from Outlook Contacts or SIM Contacts.
Anonymous: Filters calls without caller numbers or messages without sender numbers.

http://www.mobiion.com/mgcguide.html#Filter_Type

The key for me to understand this is that the filter type has to do with the number that shows up on your caller id and not the name of the caller.  So if a number shows up on your caller id that is not in your contact list then it is the filter type "Unknown", but if no number shows up at all on your caller id, then it is the filter type "Anonymous".

I have had Anonymous rule setup Anonymous>Incoming>pickup&hangup setup but the unknown caller id still comes thru. I will try the hang up rule, I had pick and and hangup on other rules and they worked.

That's really strange.  A work around may be to have 4 rules:

Rule 1:  Allow your contacts

Rule Type: Incoming Calls
Filter Type: Contacts
Action 1: System Default
Action 2: Do Nothing.

Rule 2: Allow Unknown Numbers (that is new callers with spec#)

Rule Type: Incoming Calls
Filter Type: Unknown Number
Action 1: System Default
Action 2: Do Nothing.

Rule 3: Block Anonymous Numbers (that is the rule you said does not work)

Rule Type: Incoming Calls
Filter Type: Anonymous
Action 1: Hang Up
Action 2: Do Nothing.

Rule 4: Block Any other Numbers (this is a catch all rule)

Rule Type: Incoming Calls
Filter Type: All
Action 1: Hang Up
Action 2: Do Nothing.

What Rule 4 does is catch any other call not handled by Rules 1 thru 3 and hangs up that call.

If I think of anything else, I'll post.

Hope this helps for now.

I get Anonymous calls and these get blocked as well as spec#s in files. But it is the caller id Unknown caller id that by passes and comes thru to me.

Hmm... I have had these four rules set up in my phone for over 3 months and have never gotten a call from an unknown caller.  Not sure how else to help.

Maybe the Admin can help out.

Please create a rule like the following and move it to the top position of the rule list.

Rule type: Incoming Call
Filter type: All
Action1: Pass on to next rule
Action2: Do nothing
Notice type: Only check "Log events"

This rule will record all incoming calls in MagiCall logs. After you get an unexpected unfiltered call, go to MagiCall Log Viewer and see what is recorded.

Update, the caller id on phone says Unknown, But in call block log view it says call comes from caller ID "W", something must be wrong with code in software for it to change caller id from Unknown to W in log viewer.

It looks like a problem on some devices. Please try this version http://www.mobiion.com/MagiCall_223_PPC.CAB
