Hey guys, I did a search and couldn't find anything on this.  What I'm trying to do it whenever I get an email to my gmail account it will forward to my phone using SMS then open my pocket outlook and sync to my account. ie. xxx-xxx-xxx@txt.bell.ca.  I receive the SMS message fine but the problem is I'm not sure what SMS Filter to use? Since each email can come from different senders.   Any ideas?

Everything else works fine.  Just not sure what to filter the messages for.
Action1: Delete
Action 2: Launch Application
App Path: \windows\tmail.exe
Param:-service "rogers.com" -sync

I think what the Admin wants to know is the title (subject/number) of the SMS and if there is anything (words/phrases) in the body of the sms that is consistent.  For example, SMS sent by gmail may be titled 4567 in the from field, and may always have something like "check your gmail account for new message".  With this type of info you can easily write a filter.

The only thing that looks consistent is the brackets around the subject. "[subject]".  The address who it's from is always different and the body is always different.  How can I filter the "@" sign or  "[]" brackets?

I tried out some messages from my yahoo account to gmail with forwarding to my tmobile sms email address.  The 4 test emails I did came to my sms as from: 3657; 3686; 3617; and 3652.  There was nothing consistent in the body of the text.  So the only thing that was consistent in my case was 36??.  Therefore, based on this I would write:

Rule Type: SMS
Filter Type: Specific Number
Phone #: 36??
SMS filter: <this is blank>
Action1: Delete
Action 2: Launch Application
App Path: \windows\tmail.exe
Param:-service "rogers.com" -sync

I have not tried to filter parts of words or symbols in the body of a message so not sure how to do this.  If I find out, I'll let you know.  For now, I would suggest that you test out the messages to see if you get something similar to the 36?? in your SMS From:, then I would suggest using it until you sort out the filtering of the body of the text.

Looks like just adding @ to the filter works.  So the rule would be:

Rule Type: SMS
Filter Type: All

SMS filter: @
Action1: Delete
Action 2: Launch Application
App Path: \windows\tmail.exe
Param:-service "rogers.com" -sync

I tried it and it worked. Hope it works for you.  (BTW, the SMS numbers for my last two messages changed to 3547 and 3579 so filtering on the SMS number will probably not work in the long run).

I have been running a few more gmail forwards to my SMS but discovered that the larger emails are actually forwarded as MMS.  I don't think Magicall can filter MMS.  So, at least for T-mobile, the small email forwards come in as SMS, but the large ones as MMS.

Maybe the Admin can give you more info.
