Problem with seemingly endless key repeats

I was really liking magickb lite for the treo pro, but ran into an issue with multiple key repeats that caused me to uninstall this app.  I am hoping someone can help me resolve the issue.  The problem I encountered was as follows: I would enter the first letter in a lookup from the Today screen.  That single keystroke would then repeat over and over again.  At first it would stop repeating after a minute or so, but eventually I could only make it stop by performing a soft reset (pulling the battery).

Has anyone else encountered this?  I can provide a list of installed software if someone thinks it may be a conflict.

Try adding shell32.exe to the exception list to avoid this problem.

Putting shell32.exe in the exclusion list did not help.  It took a few days, but the problem eventually occurred again.  Do you have any other suggestions?

The problem only occurs when I am dialing a number from the today screen.  Is there a way to disable MagicKB Lite on the today screen and/or whatever app is running when it tries to match my key strokes to an entry in my address book?  That is the only place I am having trouble, and I don't need it there.

Also, do you know of any software conflicts?  I don't have much installed:

todayagenda
ilauncher
phone alarm
splashID
some games: uno, kevtris, bejeweled, yahtzee...
sprite backup
ISS calc suite
my converter pro

A few other things.  The first ones are today screen plugins, so I figure the problem is more likely to be with one of them...
