I just recently purchased this product after a long time of just using the trial... it is really worth the money to have. I was scrolling through the help and realized that this program can do a hell of a lot of stuff. Other than the obvious, ignore/drop/hangup/delete/etc that you can do with calls and SMS, what are some really cool tips/tricks that you have set up with your magicall rule list? I am looking for some creative things that people do with their Magicall!

Thank you. My MagiCall does: 1. Automatically betting, by using "Send SMS". My mobile service provider allows us to bet by sending SMS. Everytime it notifies me for a new bet, I reply an SMS with numbers I want to bet. 2. Filter SMS spams. I filter all SMS containing phone numbers or unwanted words from unknown senders. 3. Block phone salers. 4. Forward missed calls and SMS to another phone by using "Send SMS". I have two mobile phones, sometimes I only carry one of them, so I forward missed calls and SMS from one to another phone. Looking forward to see other people's cool uses.

I have it skip calls to voicemail when I am at a appmnt and send them a SmS telling them the location as it is labeled in my Outlook Calendar.
(I also have it label the SmS by their first name.. For some reason though if they are not in my contacts list it don't send the SmS at all?)

That's shouldn't be. How you set the rule?

To answer the question "What does your Magicall do?"...
- Reboot (thanks to your "Reboot.exe" app) when I send a secret phrase to my Treo 700wx (in case it is stolen or missing), which causes a password prompt. - Ignore calls while my Busy Status = Busy. - Mute SMS while my Busy Status = Busy. - Ignore calls from unknown numbers while I'm sleeping. - Ignore calls from blacklisted contacts. - Mute SMS from blacklisted contacts or unknown numbers. - Block my outgoing caller ID when calling numbers that aren't in Contacts. - Auto answer and send dtmf (thanks to your SENDDTMF app) to an automated system that notifies me of incoming voice mail in my office. Magicall then sends a DTMF to my phone (during business hours) or does nothing (after business hours).
This is a "must have" application, and it keeps getting better!

Tied up with a scheduler, Magicall is really awesome! Depending on location (cellsite-based), for me, Magicall automatically sorts which callers and SMS can get through. Informs my other phone for missed "VIP" callers. "Secures" my phone from my wife's prying eyes, via a simple SMS, just in case I accidentally leave it with her Automatically changes my prefix for outgoing calls allowing me to avail of network promotions (per second charging using a different prefix.)

I am just getting used to MagiCall with simple rules so these examples seem awesome but rather complex for a beginner to write Some of them I would never have thought of!!! It would be very nice if some of these examples can be added to the FAQs and Knowledge Base (FKB) - that is if members are willing to share some of their rules, then the admin could just copy and paste to FKB. Maybe as an incentive to send in cool rules, the admin could give credit to the user that submits the rule to be put in FKB. For example: How to Reboot Phone with Secret Phrase (By RockLobster) Hope there will be some interest to beef up FKB and help out the beginners. Thanks. LB

I've had this software for about an hour, and I'm already amazed. I have it doing 2 things so far:
#1: I set my cellular phone to use a calling card during peak hours (m-f 8am-6pm).
#2: I have a POP3 email account, and I set that POP3 account to forward to my cellular phone's SMS service. This "Poor Man's Push Email" setup was always messy and mildly annoying. I would get an SMS from Rogers telling me that I have a new email, and I would have to manually startup my e-mail program and do a send receive. With MagiCall, it automatically deletes the SMS, starts the email program and does a sync by starting "\Windows\tmail.exe" with parameters "-service <Account Name in Quotes> -sync"
I'm sure that I'll find many more uses, but use #2 is something I have been thinking about for years, and never expected to get the answer from what I thought was strictly a calling card program.

#2 sounds interesting. Can you give an example of the rule you wrote? Thanks.

I 've been trying to figure out what command line to use in order to automatically start ActiveSync and sync my exchange email. Is the following correct?
\windows\tmail.exe -service "ActiveSync" -sync
Any help would be appreciated.
