I'm new here and trying to understand when and why I would use the "Appointment" tab when setting up a Rule.  Can you give me a short example of when or why I would use it.

They are used as additional criteria. If you don't need them, leave them the default values.
Here is section talking about it in User Guide

For instance, if you want a specific rule to be enabled only when there is a busy appointment in Calander, see the following simple example:

Rule type: Incoming Call
Filter type: All
Action1: Ignore
Action1: Do nothing
Appointment-Busy Status: Busy

Thanks, I was thinking that you could make an apointment callback to appear in your calendar for missed calls.
