Hi,

I imagine this has already been asked but I didn't know what to search for.  I'm a registered magicall user and I'm interested in playing recordings for specific callers.  For example if a particular number calls, the phone will pick up and play a message for them, if another number calls, they will get a different message, and other calls will just come through normally. Is this supported, or is there some kind of work around that allows launching a program to play the message through the phone call domain?  I have a windows mobile 6.1 device.

Thanks,

David

Hello David,

This is impossible for WM devices because of hardware limitations.

I think certain providers (AT&T...) have a busy recording which is separate from the normal answer machine, that picks up if you if you decline the call (Hit No when asked if you want to answer..) If that is the case with your service you would just have only two different recordings for those numbers....? If not an SMS for certain numbers you know are cell phones and the rest your answer machine..  Also..... I think providers also have call ring tones (<--Not the exact term) that play a ringtone while a person is calling you they hear it while waiting... Maybe if you look into that as an option.....

Apparently, iSecretary from www.isecretary.net actually has this feature. It could work well in tandem with Magicall.

This is the same feature I was wondering about actually. I would really like to be able to play a file to cold callers to ask them to enter a PIN before having the phone ring. Haven't found any such software yet.
