I had installed both MagiCall and CallBack in HTC Touch.   And, I understand from the discussion under Magicall that CallBack will deal with features consistent with most call back card services.

There are a few questions that I need some helps:

  • How to use both software at the same time, ie  pass international outbound calls filtered by MagiCall to CallBack?
  • I have all phone numbers in +CC AAA NNNNNNN formats.  So, when I'm in Singapore, all numbers other than those with "+65*" will invoke call back.  Similarly, when I'm in China, all numbers other than those with "+86*" will invoke CallBack.
It seems I need two rules and only enable one at a time.
  • "Call Center" and "SMS Center" fields can't take +CC format.   Some callback service requires calling oversea center.   Having +CC format help to reduce changes required when moving from one country to another.
  • How about different call center for different country for callback, perhaps "profile" or multiple cards?
  • If I choose "Always" under Capture Calls, all call will be subject to callback, unless I choose "Next".  It implies that I have to change the CallBack option before making a callback call and then immediately reset the option back to "Never" after the call.
A more logical behaviour would be that invoking a callback by selecting "Make a CallBack" from menu in Contact should immediate take that the call be "captured" and passed to Call Center regardless the option.

My trial period will run out before Aug 5 and I heading out of country next couple days.   Look forward to try out these software before placing the order.

Thanks in advance.

If you are using MagiCall to filter outgoing calls other than international numbers, you need to add rules to make MagiCall bypass outgoing calls intended to use callback service, and bypass outgoing calls and incoming calls, to and from the callback center. For example, suppose the callback center number is 12345678, and +86, +65 numbers are using callback service. Add the following rules to MagiCall, and move them to the top of rule list:

Rule type: Outgoing call
Filter type: Specific number
Phone #: +86*; 12345678
Action1: System Default

Rule type: Outgoing call
Filter type: Specific number
Phone #: +65*; 12345678
Action1: System Default

Rule type: Incoming call
Filter type: Specific number
Phone #: 12345678
Action1: System Default

Current version of MagiCall does not support profiles. You have to enable or disable rules manually. For example, when you are in China, you need to disable rule2 and enable rule1. If the call center numbers are different for different countries, you need to add more rules to MagiCall to bypass them.

When you choose "Next Call" in Callback, please enable Callback's today plugin, and then you can use the today item to capture next call.
Hope my answer can help you. Thanks.

I don't want press the today plug-in to capture call manually every time when I need a callback. So I set for all calls. But the problem it will trigger callback even for local calls. Is there a way that I can set a rule in MagicCall or Callback to bypass certain numbers for callback? I've tested the above way, but it seems not working.

No, Callback does not have filter features.

I have no interest in it, but consider adding a function to MagiCall that allows it to pass a call to Callback? That way MagiCall traps the call, filters it appropriately, and passes it on to Callback? Callback can still operate as stand-alone, except add some hooks so it knows when MagiCall is active.

Sorry, Callback and MagiCall are not able to communite with each other. It's complicated.
