greetings,

thank you for such an excellent program! Smiley

i would like to make a two little sms feature requests please:

1) would it be possible to have "silent" sms delivery notifications, i.e. similar to the "ignore" of the phone call rules?

i tried this with setting the sms filter type to "delivery report" and the operation as the following:

action1: normal; action2: do nothing            -or-
action1: pass on; action2: do nothing

but still the device provides the audio notification for delivery reports. i do not wish to delete the sms notifications, i just wish them to arrive silently, so that i can see them when i wish later on.

2) can we filter sms messages based on an sms id? sometimes some sms messages (from the gsm network provider itself, or online banking) come without a "numeric" identifier. in the "from" section of the sms message, it just says sth like: ORANGE or ACME BANK (just an example Smiley) so would it be possible to filter those sms messages come without a "numeric" identifier?

/* edit: also tried to put the ACME BANK keyword (with a plus in front of it) in the filter, but it appears the filter takes into consideration not the sender id, but only the message "content". */

Thank you so much! Smiley

Thank you for the suggestions.

I need some time for doing some research.
If there is no technical difficulty I will add them to future version.

Hello,
I was going to ask the same Q as gwelwhir regarding silent SMS messages.  I want only white list phone calls and white list SMS to get through to me at night while I'm sleeping.  Having a silent feature for SMS would be very helpful in terms of my sleep so that the notification sound doesn't wake me up except for a select few people.
Thanks for considering this idea.

As a follow up, if you can do the SMS feature, can you do the same thing for incoming emails where no sound would be made for non-whitelist senders and the emails would just go to where they would normally be filed?  Thank you very much.

Hi PaulStraube,

I am going to add the silent SMS feature. But there is no plan to filter Emails.
Thanks.  Smiley

Thank you for your reply.  What about simply silencing notification sounds across the board?  Just a thought.
Thanks.

Hi Paul, did you mean the sound on this forum? I believe that I've not set up notification sounds on it.  ???

Sorry for not being clear.
When I said, "across the board", I meant being able to turn off the sounds on my Treo700wx during specific timeframes across the board for all notifications (e.g., emails, phone calls, text messages, etc.).

I've got it.  Wink

This is a must have feature of a profile program. But I've no plan to add it to MagiCall. Because there are some profile applications in the world can do that. For example PocketPhoneZen.

Oh, come on!  Don't you want to have the Swiss Army knife of Pocket PC programs?   Grin
No, I understand.  Still, it would be nice to have.  Cry Just giving you a hard time.
Thanks.
