You need to press and hold the shift key when use 4-way selection.

yes, I am doing so. Pressing and holding the shift key, and then moving the 4-way pad. the cursor moves, but without selecting the text.

What device do you have? Have you set up the shift key?

I have a treo750V. The shift key is set as 0xC8, which seems to be correct.

That's strange. I am using Treo750v also. Is there any other keyboard hook program installed on your device? I am still using WM5.0, have you upgraded your Treo?

I do not think I have another hook program installed. How can I verify? I have upgraded my Treo to WM6.0. Could this be the reason?

Have installed 2.18 VFE to my Treo750v but have not reproduced the problem. Can you confirm if you set it to "Fast Moving Mode" which just fast moves the caret without selecting text. You may change the mode by opening the Action Menu. (select Center key when holding Shift) See the attached image:

I have the same problem with my Samsung i780. I tried to follow the procedure but I can't find a menu with "Fast Moving Mode" no mater how or where I tap on the screen similar to the attached image. I can't find such option! please help!

Hi boybawang,
That context menu is triggered by pressing and holding the Center Key, not by using a stylus.

Yes I pressed the center-key almost everywhere the screen including the test-area and nothing happened. Everything else runs fine including the keycaps but I can't make the text selection using the d-pad work! Here's an example scenario while in the d-pad settings tab: When I press the center-key while in the test-area, the focus immediately goes to 4-way selection combo box where the "On (shift is held)" is highlighted. I tried selecting all the options using center-key but it just opens and closes the combo-box.
I already installed hookmgr.
thanks for the help in advance.
