I own a Blackjack II (i617) and just have installed Hook Manager in order to fix a problem with Automatic Keylock (http://www.mobiion.com/downloads.html#hookmgr).  Now my scroll wheel behaves in an up/down fashion instead of a side to side fashion.

Can I edit the registry (or anything) to change the wheel movement back to side to side?  And what is a "hook" and how does Hook Manager accomplish its task (or what does the program modify)?

Thanks,
FS

Put shortly, a hook is a function you can create as part of a dll or your application to monitor the 'goings on' inside the windows operating system. The idea is to write a function that is called every time a certain event in windows occurs - for example when a user presses a key on the keyboard or moves the mouse.

However, Windows Mobile allows only one hook application to be registered. HookMgr is used to remove this limitation on Windows Mobile.

There must be a number of hook programs on your device, and HookMgr makes all of them to work. I think some of them conflict with each other.

Thanks!  I'm using a program that will automatically lock my keypad.  I guess that program virtually presses the keys in order to lock?  Is there anyway I can edit (registry, etc.) what's changed by the hook manager and maybe manually fix my scroll wheel?  Or is this part of the autokeylock program?

Thanks,

I am not sure.

There is no registry tweak for HookMgr. You have to find and disable the hook program which caused your problem.
