I just installed the beta 2 and want to share what I noticed. I uninstalled beta 1 and thought I removed all other log files and rules. I installed beta 2 to my storage card. I left the option checked to install the database converter tool. This produced two corrupted rules (there were two rules in the beta 1). I gave these corrupted (phantom?) rules a name so I could delete them. I then made my two rules that I normally use.

I thought I would try a couple of different combinations for rules on incoming calls. I changed my rule that rejects unknown callers to pick up and hold. I called the cell with an anonymous number and the call went straight through to the cell. I soft reset the cell and tried again. This time it picked up the call and left the line and microphone open. I was hoping this would pick up and mute the call so the caller can hear nothing and tie up the line for them. Are you still going to add this feature to MagiCall? I think this would be very useful if you can get it to work.

I then tried the Mute action. This just ignores the call, which then goes to voicemail. I saw where you changed this terminology in Beta 1 from ignore to mute. This is just my feelings but this would make more sense being called ignore. Even the pop up on the phone states MagiCall is ignoring this call.

How can I take a number from the call logs and move it to a rule? I presently have to write the number down and then add it to the rule.

I'm using a HTC PPC6800 CDMA phone at present with WM 6.1

Now for the positive. I absolutely love MagiCall! This is a must have application for me. Keep up the great work Smiley

Thanks,

Buddy

Thank you, Budman.

The settings and logs files are not removed when you uninstall MagiCall. I think beta2 still read the old db files created by beta1 which is not compatible with beta2 and which made the two corrupted rules.

"Pick up and Hold" was designed to work as what you thought, but it looks like it did not work well for you. I will try to correct it.
I think you are right about the second thing, it will be labeld as "Ignore" in final release.

I have not decided yet how to copy numbers from MagiCall's logs. It will be considered after releasing version 2.
If you want to copy numbers from phone call log, you may use [Menu]>[Select Phone Logs] from the rule configuration window.
Many thanks

I did go back and delete the folders on my storage card which contained the database files, but I obviously missed something somewhere.

Ahhhh.....so it is supposed to mute the microphone. I knew you said you would add it some time back. I let the line stay open for a while, it just stayed connected and you could here any noise around the cellphone with MagiCall installed.

OK. It would be nice for the way I use MagiCall. I sometimes want to move a number that the unknown incoming caller rule logs and move it to a pick up and drop or to  pick up and hold (mute).

Thanks,

Buddy
