If I want to take a weekend off from calls from certain people, I would like to indicate a time span and day span.  Example-Ignore all calls from Category X from 6PM Friday until 7AM Monday.  It would appear that the way it is now, if I hilight Friday through Monday and time 1800 start and 0700 end, that the rule would apply only between 1800 and 0700 each day separately.  Do I interpret this correctly, and is there a way to set it up the way I need it?

Hi ALB810,

I think you have to create three rules with the same action.
The first is for Friday 18:00 - 00:00
The second is for Saturday and Sunday
The third is for Monday 00:00 - 7:00

thank you for your reply.
Would this be one event to cascade, or three different events, each one of whih I have to select for each day at the starting time?   I obviously would like to start the whole cascade with one call Friday afternoon before 1600.

Thanks for your time.

GREAT program!! Smiley

Indeed they are three different rules, but they have the same filter and actions.
You can make one rule first, and then use "Add Copy..." feature to create the other two rules. And then change their time settings for your needs.

I will add profiler feature in a future version, so that you can enable or diable a number of rules easily by just changing profiles.

Thanks.

"Add Copy" creates a new rule filled with the same data of the selected rule.
You can use this feature to easily create rules have only small differences to an exsited rule.

For example, here is an rule existed :
Rule type: Phone - Inbound
Filter type: Specific Number
Phone #: 123456; 111222; 567890
Action1: Hang up
Between 10:00 and 22:00

And now you want to create a new rule to filter SMS from those three numbers. You can tap and hold the stylus on the rule mentioned above, and select [Add Copy...] from the pop-up menu.
A rule configuration window will show filled with the same settings as the rule mentioned above. You can change its Rule Type to SMS and then save it. Now you have two rules, one to filter incoming phones and the other to filter SMS from the same people.
With "Add Copy", you can easily create rules from existed rules.

Hope my answer can help you.

Can you "Add copy-"  to tell the software to call a new rule?  For example, can my rule for Friday night run until 23:59:59 then call my "Saturday"  rule to run 00:00 until 23:59:59 Saturday night, then my Saturday rule call my Sunday rule?

Sorry, I can't. It will make the filtering mechanism difficult to control.

But there is an alternative method you can use. For example, if you want to apply rule2 when rule1 does not match, you can put rule2 under rule1 in the list.

Could you please show me the mechanics of that?  I understand the concept, just not how to do it.
Probably the easiest way to solve this would be to be able to tell a rule to run for the next x hours.  60 hours would nicely cover a weekend, for example.
Thanks for your efforts.

I've captured some screenshots, hope they can help you.
First I create a new rule to block unknown callers on Friday from 18:00 to 0:00;
And then use stylus to tap and hold the first rule to pop up the context menu, and select [Add Copy...]. A new rule will be created with the same filter and action, go directly to [Others] tab to change the time schedule. Set Saturday and Sunday from 0:00 to 0:00;
In the end create a new copy in the same way, and change its time to from 0:00 to 7:00 on Monday.

That works fine.  I was just trying to run the whole weekend from one rule.  Thanks--will look foreward to your updates.
